Cuisineer Launches Some Sweet Adventuring on Steam

Cuisineer is out now and available globally for PC, via Steam.

Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games are plating up some delicious dungeon diving action now that Cuisineer has launched. Hitting shelves just last night, this mix of dungeon crawling, food fights, and café management will set players back around €24.99/$24.99 for the standard edition and €39.57/$39.57 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. A 10% discount is on the menu right now, as a launch offer.

For anybody who isn’t already ordering up a copy to take away, then there’s plenty to tempt you to pick up something for later. This unusual mix of ideas seems to take plenty of inspiration from the likes of Moonlighter, giving us a story where players take the role of Pom. This adorable protagonist begins the game by returning to her hometown of Paell. Her parents have, however, up and left. The family restaurant is now closed for business and deep in debt. Now, she must re-open the restaurant and make it thrive. It’s up to players to rebuild the business, but there’s more than simply hiring staff and warming up the oven.

You’ll need ingredients, and a land full of foodie dungeons is a Smorgasbord of edible loot and procedural challenges full of danger. You’ll master a huge range of flavorful fighting techniques along the way. Knock out monsters and rivals with Salty, Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Umami, Frosty and Toasty powers that unleash flame, poison, chain lightning and other fantastic effects. When the hunting is over, it will be time to head back to the business, rebuild, redecorate, craft new recipes, and get to know the local clientele around the town, from Naicha the Bubble Tea seller to Alder the big friendly carpenter.

The upcoming fod fight chalked up soe very positive responses when we got hands on with Cuisineer at London’s WASD convention. To find out what to expect in Cuisineer, take a look at the trailer above and head over to the official Steam Store page now.
