The upcoming Darkest Dungeon II Inhuman Bondage DLC will add a new playable hero called The Abomination.
Pack your things for another road trip of the dammed. Darkest Dungeon II, the tactical caravan caper from Red Hook Studios is about to take on all sort of inhuman adversaries again with news of a new DLC. Inhuman Bondage is set to drop onto Steam and Epic Games storefronts, giving PC players an opportunity to experience new avenues of fiendish adventure, later this year.
This isn’t the first time in the Darkest Dungeon series that we’ve seen this reclusive alchemist make an appearance, and fans of the 2016 original will know a little of what’s coming. While seemingly meek, The Abomination comes with a unique battle mechanic, allowing him to transform into a fearsome monstrosity – at the risk of spiralling stress! There will also be plenty of unique trinkets, signature items, and weapons for the latest hero to wield in your escapades.
The DLC also includes a new region to explore. The Catacombs is a abandoned and forgotten realm. Lurking in the depths, it is filled with a corrosive, oozing threat. Entering is rife with risk and danger, but there are plenty of rewards and new items. Just, avoid getting stuck in the new slime faction along the way.
Darkest Dungeon II is the sequel to the first gothic roguelike RPG in this series. After setting out into early access in 2021, it continued to unleash eldritch horrors for a full launch in 2023. Building upon the original game’s mechanics, players will face the psychological stress of managing a team of flawed heroes as they explore treacherous dungeons and combat monstrous foes. Featuring a distinctive art style, strategic gameplay, and deep narrative, it continues to remain firmly in the ‘Positive’ category on Stem.
