Darkest Dungeon received the first DLC since 2020 titled Darkest Dungeon: The Fire’s Edge. The release introduces two heroes (The Runaway and The Duelist), who previously made their debut in Darkest Dungeon II. Moreover, the expansion brings a new combat mechanic, unique trinkets, three new Districts, and additional town events.

Darkest Dungeon: The Fire’s Edge DLC Overview
Heroes
- The Duelist: Able to dance between ranks while freely maintaining Riposte as she switches between two combat stances.
- The Runaway: Makes use of Burn, a combat mechanic unique to her class.
Trinkets
The DLC adds a number of Trinkets with new mechanics, including Trinkets that come charged with powerful limited effects, or ones that transform through use as expeditions are completed.
Districts
- Academie Duello
- Craftworks
- Archaeological Base Camp
These areas offer new bounties such as weekly Heirlooms and Trinkets, as well as damage boosts to heroes.
Modding Support
The developers approached the DLC with mod compatibility in mind, ensuring all changes are additive and do not affect existing heroes or enemies. Members of the Darkest Dungeon modding community were invited to test the DLC and provide vital feedback during development.Moreover, new and improved mod loader is currently in development, with an open beta expected in the coming weeks. A follow-up release is planned for the end of August, with additional modding improvements based on community feedback.
