Ten years after players first entered The Fog, Dead by Daylight is showing no signs of slowing down. Behaviour Interactive welcomed thousands of fans to Montreal this weekend to celebrate the horror multiplayer game’s 10th anniversary, marking a milestone few live-service titles ever reach. The celebration came at the end of what the studio described as back-to-back record-setting years for the franchise, and the anniversary showcase made it clear that the next decade of Dead by Daylight will be just as ambitious.
The big announcement was the arrival of horror icon Jason Voorhees. After years of fan requests, the legendary slasher from Friday the 13th will officially join the roster in Dead by Daylight: Jason, launching June 16 across all platforms.
Additional reveals include Dead by Daylight: The Life Road, a new Survivor-focused chapter introducing Shane Wiigwaas, the game’s first Indigenous Survivor. That chapter arrives just days later on June 25. The licensed horror crossovers continue later this year. Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin launches in August as the game’s first chapter created entirely in collaboration with the community. In November, Art the Clown from the Terrifier films will enter The Fog in what is sure to be one of the year’s most anticipated horror collaborations. Looking ahead to 2027, Behaviour confirmed a chapter based on The Casting of Frank Stone, the studio’s narrative-driven Dead by Daylight spin-off.
Beyond new chapters, the development team revealed a major visual overhaul planned for 2027. Character models will receive extensive reworks, including improved animations and facial expressions. Maps will also see upgraded lighting, textures, fog effects, and stronger Entity-themed environmental storytelling. For the first time in the game’s history, dynamic weather systems, including rain and storms, will be added to Trials.
The team also teased future gameplay additions, including new 1v1 and Zombie game modes. Perhaps even more exciting for longtime players, Behaviour confirmed that sandboxed modding support is in development, with tools planned for release next year that will allow players to create custom maps, modes, and other content.
On the cosmetic front, players can look forward to the Black Banquet Collection during the anniversary event running June 25 through July 16, alongside the upcoming Sunflesh Collection. Music fans will also see an Eddie Legendary Outfit for The Huntress celebrating Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary, while Ice Nine Kills is receiving its own collection following the debut of a Dead by Daylight-themed song and music video during the event.
Several crossover collections were also announced. The Walking Dead Collection adds Glenn and Negan as Legendary Outfits for Rick, while Silent Hill fans will be able to transform Cheryl into Shimizu Hinako from Silent Hill f. Perhaps the most surprising reveal came at the end of the presentation. After years of fan requests, Scooby-Doo is finally coming to Dead by Daylight. Behaviour also confirmed a Diablo-themed collection arriving in October, bringing Blizzard’s iconic demons into The Fog.
Ten years in, Dead by Daylight has evolved from an asymmetrical horror experiment into one of gaming’s biggest crossover platforms. With Jason, Art the Clown, Scooby-Doo, a movie adaptation, mod support, and sweeping visual upgrades all on the horizon, Behaviour appears determined to ensure that The Fog remains crowded for years to come.
