Defy the Physics in Anime Shooter Strinova

Anime Shooter Strinova will bend reality on 22 November, but not like you expect.

Forget the jiggle, Strinova is set to bring a new type of gravity-defying physics to PC screens on 22 November. Spanning both 2D and 3D, the newest title from iDreamSky will pit players against each other in an explosive tactical shooter filled with anime avatars. Utilize a unique Stringification system to flatten your avatar into a 2D plan, zip up the vertical plane, and eliminate your opponents.

Developer and publisher iDreamSky dropped a trailer for potential recruits to get a taste of the upcoming action. Check it out to see anime waifus, husbandos, and other extrovert avatars leaping up walls and along corridors brandishing a range of unique abilities. The hero style shooter picks a wild mix of characters. Each combatant possesses unique combat capabilities. For example, “young artist” Maddelena excels at using special paints in combat to restrict the enemy’s movements, while “New Investigator” Michele relies on her beloved intelligent robot to be her best combat partner. There’s even a giant animated bear somewhere in among the teaser trailers.  While careful use of these options might win the day, you’ll need to utilize the Stringification mechanic at exactly the right time. Flatten your avatar into a 2D plane to reduce your target area and get in position. Flesh yourself out into 3D to utilize your weapons and take the offensive against the opposing team.

Another Anime Tale

Each of the character options comes from a trio of factions. P.U.S., The Scissors, and Urbino exist in a world where Earth’s resources are depleted. Humanity used string theory to discover a multidimensional space. Utilizing the “Bablo Crystals” from this space, they created new bodies to adapt to the multidimensional environment. Of course, things are going wrong and now it’s war!

The free-to-play 5v5 shooter isn’t quite Overwatch for anime fans, but if you like both of these then there’s not much to lose in taking a look when Strinova launches. Check out the official Steam Store for more.
