Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked Warlock Update Adds New Hero, Frozen One-Shot Adventure

Resolution Games has released a major new update for Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked (check out our review), adding a new playable hero, a challenging frozen side quest, and sweeping changes to the game’s hero system. Dubbed the Warlock Update, the content drop expands the tactical adventure with a new hero class, additional language support, and a fresh standalone challenge designed for experienced players.

For those unfamiliar with the title, Battlemarked blends the tabletop strategy of Demeo with the iconic fantasy world of Dungeons & Dragons. Built on the Demeo Action Roleplaying System, the game delivers fast-paced, turn-based combat and story-driven campaigns for up to four players. It supports full cross-play across Steam, PlayStation platforms, and Meta Horizon devices.

The centerpiece of the update is a new playable Warlock hero named Azruss Drevontir. The character’s abilities revolve around eldritch magic drawn from infernal pacts, giving players access to powerful spells, battlefield manipulation, and high-risk tactics that reward careful coordination with teammates. Completing a newly introduced frozen north side quest will permanently unlock the Warlock for use in future adventures.

Alongside the new hero, the update introduces a One-Shot adventure titled Auril’s Cradle. Set in a brutal, frozen environment, the scenario is designed to be one of the game’s most demanding encounters. Players must first unlock the city of Ythryn during the second campaign before accessing the One-Shot. Unlike most encounters in the game, Auril’s Cradle launches without selectable difficulty modes, challenging players to overcome its threats using strategy and teamwork alone.

The update also expands accessibility for players worldwide. The game now supports Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, making it easier for international groups to gather a party and tackle campaigns together.

Another major change comes with the second phase of the game’s hireling redesign. Following player feedback, hirelings have now been completely removed from Battlemarked. Going forward, all heroes present in a party must be player-created characters. According to Resolution Games, the shift reinforces the game’s cooperative focus by ensuring that every hero at the table represents a real player rather than an AI-controlled companion.

Originally released in November 2025 in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, Battlemarked has continued to grow through regular updates and new content aimed at expanding its tactical tabletop-style gameplay. The Warlock Update is available now across all supported platforms. Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is currently available for $29.99 on Steam for PC and Mac, on PlayStation 5 with PS VR2 support, and on Meta Quest devices.
