Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked’s Holiday Update Adds Festive Side Quest and Custom Hirelings

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked (check out our review) has just rolled out a seasonal update that delivers a limited-time holiday side quest alongside major quality-of-life improvements, including the first phase of a long-awaited hireling overhaul. The update brings fresh content to the tactical RPG’s campaigns and gives players new ways to compose their adventuring parties, whether they’re playing solo or teaming up with friends.

The highlight of the new patch (get the full patch notes here) is a holiday-themed side quest that only appears during the current seasonal event. Adventurers can speak with Dwelf Jollykeg at the Ramshackle Inn in the Crown of Frost campaign to kick off special deliveries and festive tasks. Completion of this limited-time quest awards players with a special dice skin, a fun cosmetic reward that celebrates the season and encourages players to revisit the game during the holidays.

One of the biggest quality-of-life additions in the update is the ability to customize hirelings, marking the first phase of Resolution Games’ planned redesign of the system. Previously, solo players filled out their parties with generic hireling characters that did not gain experience or level up. With the new update, solo adventurers can now populate their group with custom heroes that earn XP and level together, making solo gameplay feel more cohesive and rewarding.

Alongside this core change, players can now manage their party composition more flexibly. You can remove and reassign hirelings in multiplayer sessions, and there’s also a new option to alter turn order on the map, helping players execute strategic combos more easily without pausing the flow of play.

The holiday update doesn’t stop at content additions. It also tidies up various aspects of gameplay based on community feedback. Bug fixes, performance optimizations, and stability improvements have been applied to ensure smoother play across platforms. Among the changes are tweaks to status effects and combat interactions that should make battles feel more consistent, as well as practical enhancements like improved party management in multiplayer.

With Battlemarked now fully launched and expanding with seasonal content and systematic improvements, the game continues to evolve beyond its initial release. Whether you’re diving into the festive side quest for cosmetics or enjoying more personalized party control in your solo adventures, this update adds both charm and depth to the tactical RPG experience.
