With the arrival of the latest Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light, Bungie has grown the game exponentially. In addition to all of the new locations and stories to explore, Guardians also have the opportunity to participate in the Season of the Hunt. The latest seasonal gameplay is available from now through February 9th and it offers players a chance to score some terrific in-game items for their efforts.
To showcase Season of the Hunt, Bungie has released a trailer that sets the stage. Players are on a mission to discover why followers of Xivu Arath “seek to seize power”. It’s up to Guardians to work with Spider to find new villains and why Xivu is encouraging her followers to come to her side.
Season of the Hunt brings a new power level cap and new artifact mods and combat enhancements. The new D2 Season Mission will be starting on November 17th with Guardians hunting down Xivu Arath followers in a season-specific mission arc.
Along the way, players will find:
- the Hawkmoon Exotic Quest
- new weapons for Trial of Osiris
- new ritual armor sets
- a new Season Pass and rewards
- new universal armor ornaments
Over the holidays, players will be able to take part in the annual Dawning event which sends them off to deliver cookies across the galaxy. New recipes will be available this year for the event that starts on December 8th.
