During its latest developer stream, Digital Extremes revealed a substantial batch of new details for Warframe Jade Shadows: Constellations update, the next chapter in the ongoing narrative saga. Launching free on all platforms on June 17, the update introduces the game’s 65th Warframe, expands the story of last year’s Jade Shadows questline, revives Railjack gameplay, and prepares the battlefield for the arrival of Styanax Prime.
The biggest announcement is undoubtedly Sirius & Orion, Warframe’s first true two-in-one playable Warframe. Rather than functioning as separate forms of the same character, Sirius and Orion are presented as two conflicting entities locked in a constant struggle. Players can swap between the pair on the fly, with each possessing a distinct set of abilities and combat roles.
Sirius leans into support and battlefield control, wielding a throwable scythe, explosive stars, and healing zones. Orion takes a more aggressive approach, stripping enemy defenses, deploying decoys, and even summoning a moving black hole capable of dragging enemies into its path. Their shared ultimate ability sees the two clash against each other in midair, damaging anything unfortunate enough to be standing nearby.
What’s particularly interesting is how closely the gameplay appears tied to the narrative. According to Community Director Megan Everett, player decisions made during the original Jade Shadows quest will influence scenes throughout Constellations, marking the first time Warframe has attempted a direct sequel quest built around previous player choices.
The update also brings something veteran players have been requesting for years: new Railjack content. Completing the story unlocks fresh missions in Uranus Proxima, where players align themselves with one of two new Protoframes, Ryoku and Vena, and engage in large-scale Railjack battles across alternate timelines.
Elsewhere, Constellations introduces five new Incarnon weapons, the dual-identity scythe Pride and Wrath, new Protoframe cosmetics, and the arrival of Styanax Prime. The Prime Access package includes Afentis Prime, Athodai Prime, and a collection of new Prime accessories.
Outside the game itself, Digital Extremes also confirmed a limited-time collaboration with Los Angeles fashion label ARK/8. Fans attending Summer Game Fest week can visit a special Warframe pop-up in Los Angeles featuring exclusive Jade Shadows: Constellations merchandise ahead of TennoCon 2026 in July.
The larger takeaway from the stream is that Digital Extremes seems increasingly comfortable experimenting with Warframe’s structure. A sequel quest, player-choice continuity, and a dual-character Warframe are all concepts that would have sounded wildly ambitious even a few years ago.
