The Indian studio BornMonkie presented a release date announcement trailer for cozy platformer game Dodo Duckie. The players will have a chance to play as a charming duck, befriend capybaras and other cute creatures really soon. The journey begins in 2026.
Dodo Duckie is a platformer puzzle game, blending together the best sides of such games like Fez and Super Paper Mario. This is a heartwarming, funny adventure with the duck that knows it’s a main hero here. And with this knowledge comes responsibility. Dodo has to save his chicken friends from the aliens, who ruined one calm day at the farm.
Peace was never an option, right? And so, chasing the kidnappers, Dodo falls into a glitchy dimension full of puzzles, traps and dangers. Splash, quack, waddle, float, flip and puzzle your way through cute and charming worlds, each more strange and delightful than the last.
According to developers, the game is featuring:
- A duck who’s definitely not supposed to be here
- A bunch of aliens who didn’t expect a duck
- 2D, 3D and a whole lot of “wait, what just happened?”
- A chill Capybara that sells caps
- Q to QUACK! a dedicated quack button (you’re welcome)
The gameplay is based on the perspective switch from the classical 2D platformer view to the 3D one. This switch of view opens new paths, helps to solve puzzles and complete the unusual tasks given to Dodo. Moreover, on his journey Dodo meets many new friends, one of them a cap-seller capybara, who gives the hero a first magical hat. By the way, the magical hat isn’t unique. Dodo will have a whole set of them to change at will and be the most stylish duck in the world!
Dodo Duckie and his friends will meet the players exclusively on PC (Steam) with 10 localization languages available.
