Black Salt Games and Team17 Digital have announced that award-winning Dredge will receive an expansion in August. “The Iron Rig” will set sail on August 15th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via GoG and Steam.
Developers released a new trailer that sets the stage for the action for the expansion. In this adventure, players will work with the Ironhaven Corporation to collect resources to build a base of operations. By doing so, it unlocks new tiers of equipment, abilities, gadgets, and consumables.
The expansion sees players sailing into all previously revealed locations throughout the game in their search for materials to bolster the rig. As drilling continues, “something stirs in the primordial depths,” as evidenced by a dark liquid that seeps into familiar and formerly safe-havens. These now dangerous areas require players to assess the impact of the new goop and how it affects fish populations while also discovering peculiar specimens from the depths. The Iron Rig brings 50 new fish into the game encyclopedia alongside new fishing equipment, characters, hazards, and world events that combine to reveal new lore.

Players can purchase the expansion for $11.99 on any platform. In November, a physical Collector’s Edition will be released. It is already available for preorder for $99.99. This special edition features the base game and all DLC, exclusive artwork, a reversible inlay, a replica of the mysterious Sign of Ruin talisman, a double-sided poster, a map, a compendium of all fish and their variants, a message in a bottle from the game developers, and a metal doubloon.
