Dune Awakening private server details just dropped and Funcom revealed how you can get one.
Dune Awakening is getting private servers and the dedicated space for you and your friends are landing during head start. On 5th June players will be able to rent a private instance of the Dune sandbox survival sim and spin up an instance of Arrakis for a few select friends and go native, or Fremen, for fun. Funcom revealed the news as part of a post last night and confirmed that the separate instances will be available from several third-party providers.

While we don’t have a full list of the retailers or service providers yet, we do know they these will allow players to decide who has access to play on them, adjusting certain gameplay settings, including allowing free-for-all PvP. Each private server acts as a as part of a larger World. While your private server can hold 40+ players concurrently, one World can have several hundred concurrent players. All servers in a World share the same social hubs and a massive, constantly changing Deep Desert where players will meet to both explore and engage in conflict over spice. So, despite differing servers, some areas are still shared, keeping the core of the Dune Awakening Experience.
Dune Awakening private servers will begin going live on 5th June alongside head start, with the full launch of the live game on 10th June for the rest of us.
