Publisher Funcom published the latest trailer from the Schools of the Imperium series dedicated to survival MMO Dune: Awakening and its classes. Following the Bene Gesserit and the Troopers, players have a chance to learn more about the Mentat.
“The Butlerian Jihad outlawed all thinking computers, leaving a vacuum in the universe which was eventually filled by the Order of Mentats. A secretive and insular organization, the Order of Mentats condition their adherents to store and analyze vast amounts of data at superhuman speeds. In Dune: Awakening, you can learn to condition your mind in this fashion to analyze the battlefield and become a master tactician and assassin.”
Developed out of the need to replace thinking machines, the Mentats are trained on the principles of philosopher Gilbertus Albans to become some of the most important people of the Imperium. They are able to calculate immense amounts of data and devise complex strategies, making them the most advanced tacticians on the battlefield.
