Bandai Namco and Game Studio have announced a free demo version for the upcoming action JRPG Echoes of Aincrad. Based on the famous Sword Art Online franchise, the game will take players to the world of Aincrad and tell the old story from a different angle. The game is available for pre-purchase, while the free demo is set to launch on 15 June 2026.
Echoes of Aincrad offers players the opportunity to create and customize their own avatar and see the events of the anime through the prism of a side witness. Moreover, the game features new stories and characters, introduced there for the first time. The gameplay promises dynamic combat, gear customization, and a unique progression system. Players will have to build synergy with chosen NPC and unlock special abilities.
