One of the best ways to get free games is Epic Games Store’s weekly giveaway. Shortly after the Epic Games Store opened in December 2018, one or two games have been given away for free each week. Some have been hits, others have been tossaways. Every year, EGS gets an infusion of Christmas joy and kicks the giveaway into high gear, switching from weekly giveaways to a rapid-fire daily mystery game giveaway, and 2025 is no different.
2024 had some standout picks: Vampire Survivors, Hot Wheels Unleashed, Sifu, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance were among the highlights. Rumors of 2025’s list leaked a few days ago, and if it’s to be believed, this year’s event will offer some fantastic picks.

- December 11-18: Hogwarts Legacy – Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. - December 20: Blood West – Weird west legends meet eldritch horror in BLOOD WEST, an immersive stealth FPS. Become the Undead Gunslinger, doomed to roam the barren lands until he manages to purge their curse, freeing his soul. 3 varied scenarios, perk-based progression, and 20+ hours of gameplay await you!
- December 21: Sorry We’re Closed – Enjoy a nostalgic, single-player survival horror game with rich lore, deep characters and multiple endings. Fight in first person with demonic weapons. Open your Third Eye to see between worlds, uncover secrets and solve puzzles.
- December 22: Paradise Killer – Paradise Island, a world outside reality. There’s been a murder only “investigation freak” Lady Love Dies can solve. Investigate and interrogate in this open world adventure. You can accuse anyone, but you’ll have to prove your case. It’s up to you to decide who’s guilty.
- December 23: Bloodstained Ritual of the Night – A paranormal force has summoned a demon-infested castle, revealing crystal shards infused with tremendous magical power. Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse, which slowly crystallizes her body. To save humanity, and herself in the process, Miriam must fight through the castle and defeat the summoner, Gebel. Collect, craft, and unlock a vast array of weapons, equipment, and loot to defeat the countless minions and bosses of hell that await!
- December 24: The Callisto Protocol – urvive to escape the horrors of Callisto. Using a unique blend of shooting and close-quarters combat, players will need to combat rapidly evolving creatures while scavenging to unlock new weapons and gear to outrun the growing threat of Jupiter’s Dead Moon.
- December 25: Disco Elysium The Final Cut– Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is a groundbreaking role playing game. You’re a detective with a unique skill system at your disposal. Interrogate unforgettable characters, crack murders or take bribes. Become a hero or an absolute disaster of a human being.
- December 26: We Were Here Together – As we explore these frozen wastes, misfortune strikes once again. Through the fierce blizzard, a flare lights the sky, followed by a cry for help over the radio – broken, dying… No one else can come to their rescue. Can we make it back – together?
- December 27: Cassette Beasts – Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG, now with online multiplayer mode. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
- December 28: Skald Against the Black Priory – SKALD is a retro-style party-based RPG set in a grim-dark fantasy world of tragic heroes, violent deaths and Lovecraftian horror. - December 29: Viewfinder – Challenge perception, redefine reality, and reshape the world around you with an instant camera. Viewfinder is a new single player game offering gamers hours of interesting and fun experiences while uncovering the mysteries left behind.
- December 30: Trine Classic Collection – Experience the magic of the puzzle-platforming Trine series with Trine Classic Collection. Includes four titles: Trine Enchanted Edition, Trine 2: Complete Story, Trine 3: Artifacts of Power and Trine 4: Definitive Edition.
- December 31: Chivalry 2 – Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer first person slasher inspired by epic medieval movie battles. Players are thrust into the action of every iconic moment of the era – from clashing swords, to storms of flaming arrows, to sprawling castle sieges and more.
- January 1-8: Total War Three Kingdoms – Recreate epic conflicts across ancient China in an age of heroes and legends, combining gripping empire-building, statecraft and conquest with stunning real-time battles.
If one or more of these titles has your heart racing, don’t hold your breath. The annual rumors about the event are never 100% accurate. Still, the list doesn’t seem unrealistic, and it will be more credible if Jurassic World: Evolution 2 is revealed on December 18th.
Regardless of the titles that are actually revealed over the next couple of weeks, collecting all the freebies will be easier than finishing your holiday shopping list.
