ESO’s next big adventure is here as a part of the new 2025 Content Pass, and it’s a familiar threat rearing its ugly head once again. Prepare for the Seasons of the Worm Cult to forever revamp this MMORPG!
Seasons of the Worm Cult is a two-part adventure, and ESO’s major new zone and storyline for 2025. The villainous Worm Cult from the game’s original main story questline is back, and it’s eager to resume their plans of domination. Prepare to venture to the mysterious isle of Solstice and give fight to this old foe. You do not have to have completed the game’s original story to take part in this one.
Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 will be available on June 2 for PC/Mac and June 18 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with Part 2 arriving towards the end of 2025. When Part 1 launches, you will quickly discover that the Cult is far from defenseless. They’ve erected a massive arcane barrier using soul magic—the Writhing Wall—that divides the island, and for now, Eastern Solstice (and its secrets) is sealed off by this arcane edifice.
- Writhing Wall Event. Using the advantages gained in your Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 adventures, the forces opposing the Worm Cult have a plan to pierce the barrier and prepare for a true assault on the Worm Cult’s base in Eastern Solstice. Join with other players for activities in Solstice and beyond to complete the event and unbar the way forward.
- Dungeon Packs. Included in the 2025 Content Pass and 2025 Premium Edition are two dungeon packs: Fallen Banners (now live) and Feast of Shadows (arriving Fall 2025). Each pack features two unique PvE four-player dungeons, complete with their own storylines, challenges, achievements, and rewards.
- Subclassing and Hero’s Return. Update 46 base-game patch will arrive for free for everyone and introduce major additions to the game. That includes the new Subclassing system that will allow players to replace up to two of their character’s three class Skill Lines with those from the other six classes.
Additionally, Update 46 includes a new system – Hero’s Return. Designed for players who haven’t played ESO in a while, this system will serve as the perfect refresher to ease players seamlessly back into the world of Tamriel. Players who complete the experience will be offered in-game rewards to further assist with getting them back on their feet.
