MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) received a couple of major updates. Players can now access the free base game Update 46 and Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, the first half of the new year-long adventure.
The old enemy from the original ESO storyline is back, and their nefarious schemes are as dastardly as ever. Prepare to venture to the mysterious isle of Solstice and give fight to this old foe. You do not have to have completed the game’s original story to take part in this one.
Note: Seasons of the Worm Cult is available as a part of the new 2025 Content Pass.
“The Worm Cult has returned to threaten the island paradise of Solstice in the Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1. Venture into a new zone, never-before-seen in the Elder Scrolls, and discover new stories, allies, and dangers as you uncover the dread plans of the resurgent Worm Cult in a sequel saga 10 years in the making. The Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 is now live on PC/Mac and arrives June 18 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.”
Meanwhile, base game Update 46 is free for all players. It is already available on PC/Mac, and will be coming to consoles on June 18. This update includes some pretty important and awesome additions:
- Subclassing is a new way to customize your character in The Elder Scrolls Online. It allows you to swap out up to two of the three skill lines inherent to your character for options from other classes.
- Hero’s Return feature is aimed at those who haven’t logged in to ESO for an extended period of time. It offers tools and guidance to help get back into the thick of things more swiftly.
- Furnishing Vault is a new benefit for ESO Plus members. This new collectible lets you store up to 500 unique furnishing stacks in a vault accessible from any of your homes throughout Tamriel.
- Further in-game map update: better tooltips, enhanced quest visibility, and more.
- Improved tutorials for the Wayshrine system.
- Update 46 will allow creators to upload their add-ons and console players to download add-ons.
- Master Writs are now awarded in stackable envelopes. Open them whenever you want to save on inventory space in between use.
- And more!
