The Elder Scrolls Online Update 44 is now available on PC and Mac, introducing a series of improvements and additions such as the upgrades to the Battlegrounds PvP mode, two new Companions, and more. Xbox and PlayStation consoles will receive the update on November 13.
This update 44 is free for all ESO players (and will be automatically downloaded and patched by the game), but note that the two new Companions require either ESO Plus membership or purchase from the Crown Store to access.
It also introduces big changes to the fast-paced combat of ESO’s PvP Battlegrounds. Instead of the familiar three-sided approach, the Battlegrounds are shifting to two-sided PvP matches. The traditional 4v4v4 game mode will no longer be available for queues; however, it may return in the future for limited times during special mini-PvP events.
Players will not have access to 4v4 and 8v8 matches, with the new two-sided format featuring seven brand-new maps.
Two new Companions join the roster with this new patch: Tanlorin and Zerith-var. The High Elf outcast Tanlorin mixes Dragonknight and Soul Magic abilities (the first Companion to do so). Zerith-var, on the other hand, is a Khajiit Necromancer from the distant past.
The game also received additional features and improvements you can find down below or check out in the patch notes.
