Campfire Cabal and THQ Nordic has revealed a game in the Expeditions series. Originally belonging to the Logic Artists, the franchise keeps living after the studio disband. New chapter comes under the title Expeditions: Samurai, adapting the feudal Japan as a game setting. Players will take a role of the first European, who received the samurai title. However, the main character won’t be a known historical figure, but original character customized by the player.
Expeditions: Samurai is a tactical RPG set during real historical events in feudal Japan. In the 1600 year of alternate history William Adams never leaves England. Instead, the player sails to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros as the newly elected leader of a crew of privateers.

- Setting: Feudal Japan during an ongoing civil war nearing its climax. Real historical context with branching narrative.
- Character Creation: Players create their own character and choose their path through history.
- Consequences: Small decisions have far-reaching consequences for the player, crew, and people of Japan.

- Co-op (New to Expeditions series): Drop-in/drop-out co-op. Solo mode as Captain Flynn or co-op with a friend to play as a pair of twins. Co-op features include wrestling for control of decisions, competing for companion affections, coordinating sneak attacks, and executing double stealth takedowns.
