Fate/EXTRA Record Release Postponed Again

Type-Moon Studio BB has announced that the remake of the Fate/EXTRA won’t launch this spring as planned. Previously announced for 2025, the game release date was delayed to spring 2026, but it’s postponed to the unknown date. The drastic changes tied to the publisher change, as Bandai Namco canceled all pre-orders and refused to distribute the game. They didn’t provide any explicit comments and promised to refund all customers.

However, the developers confirmed that Fate/EXTRA Record is still in development. The development structure and other project details were reimagined, but the main goal remained the same. The team promise to announce the new release date and publisher as soon as decided.

Original Fate/Extra is a dungeon crawler RPG, released back in 2010 for PSP. Set in The Fate universe, the game takes players to another version of the Holy Grail War. This time it occurs in a virtual reality, designed for the magical tournament. The players assume the role of the master, woken up with amnesia. Their servant is excentric Nero Claudius, Saber class servant. Following the main story, the players have to complete mandatory side quests, earning experience points and in-game currency.

Fate/EXTRA Record has been planned for release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.
