Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Xbox and Switch 2 Demo Live

Square Enix has announced a free demo version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. The demo offers a whole first chapter, giving players a chance to taste the game’s classic Mako Reactor 1 destruction mission. The progress can be transferred to the full version of the game at any time. Moreover, for playing a demo, the players can receive special in game items, including Survival Kit and Revival Earrings.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a reimagination of the original Final Fantasy VII. The game blends traditional command-based combat with real-time action, bringing an old classic to a new era. The story follows Cloud Strife, a former elite soldier turned mercenary. He joins an Avalanche operation to destroy Mako Reactor 1 in the sprawling metropolis of Midgar. The successful bombing plunges the city into chaos. Meanwhile, Cloud began to see haunting visions of an old enemy he assumed long dead.

For the Xbox Series X the game offers two performance modes: Graphics Mode (native 4K resolution) and Performance Mode (targeting 60 FPS). However, based on the available demo, on Nintendo Switch 2 the game runs at a stable 30 FPS.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be available on PC as part of Xbox Play Anywhere, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on 22 January 2026.
