Developers Skeleton Crew Studio and publisher Devolver Digital finally named the release date for the Kung Fu roguelite adventure Forestrike. The mission to save the emperor from the conspiracy of the treacherous admiral starts on 17 November 2025. Meanwhile, the demo version of the game is available on Steam.
Forestrike is a roguelite 2D pixel game, inspired by Kung Fu moves and philosophy. The players take the role of Yu, a martial artist, who don’t want his country to fall to the evil forces. He embarks on a journey to save the emperor from the influence of a treacherous admiral, who tries to usurp the power. However, as Yu walks down this path, the odds become more complicated and the foes are more dangerous. To win this battle, he needs more than his fists.
The game feature the mechanics of Foresight, that allows Yu to experience each fight before it happened inside his mind. The players have to win the encounter before it truly begins, learning about the foes and their actions beforehand. Every move can lead to defeat or bring victory. However, death still comes at a price. Despite it being a Foresight, defeat leads Yu back to the beginning of his journey.
Forestrike has to offer a handcrafted pixel fantasy world, with the unique lore and intriguing characters. On his journey, Yu will meet different martial arts masters and learn new techniques. Moreover, the game is unpredictable, as the world map is randomly generated at each run. Learning the patterns won’t be enough, as the players never knows what foes they meet on the way.
The game will be available on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
