11 bit studios has announced that Frost Punk 2 is being delayed by two months to give the team more time to “deliver the best possible experience” to players. Originally slated for a July 25th release date, fans will now have to wait until September 20th to get their hands on the keenly anticipated title.
Changes coming due to player feedback
According to a post from Design Director Jakub Stokalski and Art Director Lukasz Juszczyk on the game’s Steam page, the team will focus on several key aspects during the extra development time. Many of these items are directly related to community feedback earlier this year’s beta.
- Changes to temperature, Heat, and proximity-based gameplay, including new and rebalanced Hubs, will make the city-building gameplay deeper and more impactful,
- More detailed and flexible workforce management,
- More direct-use abilities in the game loop to allow you to react to crises more dynamically,
- A new resource to make city-building and expansion more strategic, helping you stabilize the city’s economy,
- Ability to reshape your districts after their construction,
- Factions’ behavior that is better aligned with their lore,
- A more thorough and complex approach to dealing with protests.
- Improving the HUD (Head-Up Display) to make it clearer and more intuitive,
- Adding a new construction menu along with five new city Hubs,
- Improving the clarity, readability, and look & feel of the Idea Tree and Frostland.
- A new city feature called “Zoom Stories” that allows players to see their citizens up close and personal.
