GameSir’s New Fortnite Controllers Bring Character Collectibles To Mobile Gaming

If you have ever looked at your gaming setup and thought it needed a little more Fortnite, GameSir has a solution. The company has teamed up with Fortnite and IMG Licensing to launch a collection of officially licensed mobile controllers that combine GameSir hardware with Fortnite character-inspired designs and, importantly, digital goodies for the game. The GameSir Fortnite Controller Collection launches with two controllers, the GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition.

Both controllers are aimed at mobile Fortnite players, but they take different approaches to the idea of portable play. The $89.99 G8 Plus Fortnite Edition is the more feature-heavy option, with drift-resistant Hall Effect thumbsticks, mappable rear buttons, and console-inspired ergonomics. GameSir is positioning it as the flagship option for players who want something closer to a traditional console controller experience while playing Fortnite on mobile. It also supports multiple gaming platforms.

The $49.99 X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition takes a more portable approach. GameSir describes it as an ultra-lightweight controller designed for taking Fortnite on the road, with wireless connectivity and controls optimized for mobile gaming. Despite the Xbox branding, the focus here is still on playing Fortnite wherever you happen to be.

It’s also important to note that the controllers are also effectively Fortnite collectibles. Each model comes with an in-game bonus item, with different controllers offering different rewards. The G8 Plus editions can include emotes such as Bully, Burpee, Gun Show, Page-Turner, Go! Go! Go!, and Harmoney, while the X5 Lite editions can include items such as the Extra Cheese, Storm Sigil, Cerberus, and Snow Squall Gliders, along with the On Your Mark… Emote.

That gives the collection a slightly different purpose than simply putting a Fortnite logo on existing hardware. GameSir is building multiple character-inspired editions around the controllers, letting players choose their preferred design while also getting something they can use inside the game.

Both GameSir Fortnite controllers are available for preorder through GameSir, with the G8 Plus Fortnite Edition starting at $89.99, £89.99, or €109.99. The X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition starts at $49.99, £55.99, or €65.99. Both are scheduled to officially launch October 20.

Additional Fortnite controller editions are planned for the collection, with more pricing, launch details, and included digital items to be announced. The collection will be sold through GameSir and select retailers including Best Buy and Walmart.
