The developers from HoYoverse had been on hand during the massive special program livestream, dedicated to Genshin Impact 6.0… Or, as developers put it, “Luna I”, the first chapter of Nod-Krai. New region, characters, reactions, story, systems and features, all of that and more awaits you when Luna I launches. Let’s dive right in!
Story-wise, the importance of Nod-Krai had been apparent all the way in Natlan. Mavuika let the Traveler know that people there possess some kind of special, ancient power related to the moon. But the truth of the matter is bigger than those simple words could imply.
Lying at the edge of Teyvat and bordering Snezhnaya, Nod-Krai is a region more susceptible to the Abyss invasion than others we’d visited so far. The “moon” is a major aspect of the new Song of the Welkin Moon saga as a whole. Nod-Krai’s ancient elemental energy is known as Kuuvahki, and its power is used in almost every facet of the region’s life.
Unlike the previous regions with their Visions and even Natlan’s Phlogyston, Nod-Krai characters draw their powers from Moon Wheels, the power of which comes from Teyvat’s three moons. With the power of Kuuvahki, Nod-Krai characters can trigger special Lunar reactions. This way, Ineffa and Flins use Lunar-Charged while Lauma triggers Lunar-Bloom.
All Travelers can get a free copy of Aino (4-star Hydro Claymore) for free by progressing through “A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves”. After all, you would likely need Lunar reactions to complete the region’s puzzles!
Nod-Krai Exploration
In the upcoming Archon Quest, players can look forward to more interactions with the three new characters and the ones we’re yet to meet. Version Luna I also brings new content to the open world. Travelers will have the chance to help Flins, Lauma, and Aino build meeting-points – a bit more fleshed out version of the Travelers’ Tales.
Columbina “The Damselette” is no longer the Third of the Fatui Harbingers, instead she goes by the title of Moon Maiden now. Travelers will get to meet her very soon – venturing to Hiisi island will let you encounter her for the very first time at a special time and place. You can chat with her, accept commissions, and earn rewards for completing them.
There are also completely new locations to explore. Once you sail forth from Natlan, your adventures will start in Lempo Island’s Nasha Town, where merchants have formed a commerce “Voynich Guild” to maintain basic order. Heading west from there, you can reach the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop that belongs to Aino and Ineffa.
However, this is not the entirety of Nod-Krai that you will get to explore. There are a total of three island areas waiting for you in Version Luna I! Further up north, you can encounter the Fatui’s Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau that stands over ancient ruins on the Paha Island. Meanwhile, Hiisi Island is home to the Frostmoon Scions, who worship Moon Goddess Kuutar.

Meanwhile, Aino, a four-star Hydro Claymore wielder and creator of Ineffa, brings both mechanical ingenuity and a touch of home.
