Developer HoYoverse is back with a brand-new Genshin Impact animated short ‘Another Prologue’, dedicated to none other than Knights of Favonius’ illustrious grandmaster, Varka.
As a 5-star Anemo Claymore, he joins the roster in Version Luna V. Previously, we had dual-wielding Sword characters: Alhaitham, Chiori, Skirk to name a few, but this is the first time we have a double-wielding Claymore.
“It is the fate observed by a mere handful, including the one in whose fate lies. If everything were predetermined, perhaps that would bring some relief. Yet, those who dare to tread the diverging paths of destiny are often the ones hailed as “heroes.””
From the animated short we can learn that it was Varka’s fate to become the hero of Mondstadt by defeating Dvalin. But he had rejected that fate and embraced another one: to set out on a long expedition to prevent the encroaching of the Abyss to his beloved Mondstadt.
Varka’s influence can be felt anywhere in Mondstadt. He helped raise Razor, brought Rosaria to Mondstadt, welcomed Lisa to the ranks of the Knights, and much more. His steady presence and warm laugh are repeatedly mentioned by the younger generation: Klee, Albedo, Durin, Bennett, and the rest.
But beyond that, himself, Barbatos and the Witches of the Hexenzirkel have set up the Tripartite Conference, during which the Hexenzirkel would agree to help Mondstadt in their time of need. Which is exactly what happened in Nod-krai and with the Hexerei enhancements.
