Developer HoYoverse has unveiled Version 7.1 for Genshin Impact, presenting a brand-new trailer. The new story arc will bring a new Archon Quest, and reveal new lore pieces, bringing new and old characters to the action. Moreover, the new game version will invite players to the Moonchase Festival re-run, adding new time-limited events and a major sixth anniversary celebration.
New Archon Quest – Chapter 7 Act 3 Archon Quest, White Night, Like a Dream Upon Waking. The time had come for Travelers to meet the Tsaritsa face-to-face. The Cryo Archon will uncover the true purpose behind her Gnoses hunt and plans for the future of Teyvat. However, heroes should take down a formidable foe, the Ruler of Death Ronova. Travelers will face her both as the story antagonist and a new Weekly Boss.

Phase I:
- Vesna – Featured 5-star Anemo Sword wielder & Vodyanitsa – Featured 5-star Hydro Catalyst wielder.

Both characters introduce new ways to enhance Stellar Swirl reactions.
The youngest Commander in Druzhna history, Vesna is known for her unwavering loyalty to the Tsaritsa and joins the roster as a 5-star Anemo Sword wielder. In combat, she can convert Cryo Swirl reactions into Stellar Swirl reactions. Using her Elemental Skill and other abilities, Vesna can summon Spirit Blades and gain a certain amount of “Sword Essence.”
She can then consume “Sword Essence” with a special Elemental Skill to command the Spirit Blades to strike enemies. When they attack near a Stellar Vortex, their attacks are treated as Stellar Swirl reaction DMG. Her Elemental Burst summons another wave of Spirit Blades to deal AoE Anemo DMG while restoring “Sword Essence.” Vesna also offers a unique way to explore the open world. As a Vila, she is able to take flight during exploration. Players can also experience a special anecdote featuring Vesna to unlock a unique appearance for her sword spirit companion.
Vodyanitsa is the Prima Donna of Snezhnograd’s Korolevskiy Troupe, as well as a kind-hearted Water Imp and 5-star Hydro Catalyst wielder. In combat, she can transform into her Water Imp form and sustain her song through her Elemental Skill, continuously healing the active character, reducing enemies’ Hydro and Cryo RES, and boosting the active character’s ATK.
In this form, she can also move swiftly through the water. Her song further empowers Stellar Vortices, reducing enemies’ Anemo RES and increasing Stellar Swirl reaction DMG. Her Elemental Burst carries her voice across the battlefield, dealing AoE Hydro DMG. While exploring the open world, Vodyanitsa can remain in her Water Imp form and move freely even outside the water. Players can learn more about her through a story featuring Vodyanitsa and obtain a unique appearance for her microphone as a reward.

Moonchase Festival Returns
Players return to Yilong Wharf in Liyue as the long-awaited Moonchase Festival makes its comeback after five years. The event features an ancient story, brings three new mini-games, and offers players a new 4-star Sword.

- Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon: Mini-games and special quests with various rewards, including the new 4-star sword Silver Light.
- Carefree Snowball Fight: PvP event with snowballs battle.
- Predictive Victory Dynamics: players should predict outcome of a combat simulator to earn points and rewards.
- Overflowing Favor Rerun: Double Artifact rewards in artifact domain runs daily.
- Miliastra Wonderland Anniversary: Starlit Gala, featuring top mini-game candidates from the year and great rewards.
Sixth Anniversary Celebration
Players who complete the latest Archon Quest can choose one event-exclusive 5-star character for free from a select lineup. Anniversary rewards also include one standard 5-star character of their choice, Primogems ×1,600, Intertwined Fate ×10, and more.
HoYoFair Returns
To celebrate the sixth anniversary, HoYoFair will return with “Project: Nord Express,” premiering on YouTube on September 20 at 20:00 (UTC+8). The program features around 16 fan-created animated shorts and original fan music, including the finale to the Genshin Elemental Warfare series and a new short by KIERU. Fans can enter a special giveaway on X starting September 10 for a chance to win exclusive merchandise.
