Genshin Impact Version 5.6 is underway, and so it’s time to take a glimpse into the future. The developers have revealed the next character to join the cast: Skirk, Tartaglia’s mysterious master that taught his battle skills.
Skirk – Cryo
For the first time, we met this void star during the Fontaine Archon quest, during which she unexpectedly showed up in the aftermath of the grand fight against the All-Devouring Narwhal in Version 4.2. Through the discussion between her and Neuivillette, the Travelers found out the origins of Gnosis and such details as Five Great Sinners of Khaen’riah, one of whom is Skirk’s own master.
“Sin infests the firmament, calamity unfurls across the universe. You are free, and none now may proscribe you — yet your destiny remains bound to that of this world. Indeed, you shall send your disciple here in the near future.”
“What? Me, a student? Such misfortune — for them, I mean… whenever they show up.” — Vedrfolnir “The Visionary” & Surtalogi “The Foul”
In the days after the underground civilization collapsed, upon a patch of unremembered, scorched earth— The one who despised destiny plucked a young girl from the hand of fate. Once she had grown up, she too saved a child ensnared by providence. How good it would be, if warmth could be the measure of all things, if all tales could end in joy… Yet the road ahead is uncertain, the sights beyond unknown.
Why did this mysterious Void Star show up now? With the All-Devouring Narwhal defeated and Childe away and attending his Fatui duties, what drew her attention this time? Stay tuned, Skirk arrives in the upcoming Version 5.7.
Dahlia – Hydro
The herald of Barbatos and an old friend of Venti (which is the same thing), Dahlia took part in the latest Archon Quest Interlude in Mondstadt. Many Mondstadters believe that Deacon Dahlia has the Anemo Archon’s favor, and that asking him for guidance is a reliable path to answers from Barbatos himself. Meanwhile, he is drawn to the disturbances and troubles of the world, like a dandelion seed chasing a bustling breeze.
On days when the believers do not come to him, he often goes to them instead — leaving the Cathedral and strolling through Mondstadt’s streets to look for trouble he might get involved in. Obligation to spread the good word? Hardly — he does this out of personal interest.
“To resolve disputes between citizens, laws both fair and just must be laid out. I’m afraid we can’t approve of Dahlia… dragging disagreeing parties to the tavern to settle affairs via drinking contests, without any talk of wrongs done… Does turning enemies into drinking buddies really solve the problem?” — Jean
