Developer HoYoverse is back with a new Genshin Impact character. Coming in Version 5.6, Escoffier is a Cryo hero that hails from Fontaine. She is a famous chef and, though people unanimously agree on her skills, there is a set of rumors about her attitude.
Escoffier – Cryo
In the process of “analyzing,” “extracting,” and “harmonizing,” she has not only deconstructed Fontainian views on “flavor” but even their foundational cognition of “tastiness.” Thusly disassembled and reconstructed, the secret code constituting the sense of taste has been redefined in delicacy upon the very tips of their tongues.
Critics have never been stingy with praise for this genius chef, but neither have they ever shied away from the controversies surrounding her. Escoffier’s image as one meticulous in both the kitchen and its management has proved long-lasting, while her merciless critiques of both colleagues and apprentices have made her quite the hot topic in the culinary world.
“The Fairy of Fondant Felicity? The Towering Tyrant of Taste? Oh, Escoffier’s hardly the terror the papers make her out to be. She simply loves cooking, and she can be a bit… strict about it. Is it so surprising that she doesn’t respect those who don’t take cooking seriously? Don’t worry, I just know you’ll get along — like cinnamon and vanilla!” — Navia
Ifa – Anemo
Bro rushes to the rescue! Tlalocan vet Ifa and his companion Cacucu also join the roster in Version 5.6.
Ifa always descends from the sky, charging into the fray with gun in hand. Such dramatic entrances result in most people instinctively assuming that reinforcements from the Flower-Feather Clan have arrived. But take a closer look. With the badge on his chest and his medical kit, and ignoring whatever that round thingy next to him might be, overall he seems more like… a doctor.
So, they start thinking, “Ohhh, so that’s it! Our medical response team just got airdropped in!” and approach Ifa to explain the situation. However, Ifa pays them no heed, with eyes only for saurians in need of aid. Only after treating their injuries does he tend to the minor issues faced by the people around him. Over time, the vet’s figure has become a familiar one, and those he runs into always wave and say hello. Although he doesn’t remember everyone’s faces, Ifa never fails to return a friendly greeting with a smile and a shout: “Right back atcha, bro!”
At the moment, the game is going through Version 5.5, having introduced two new playable characters: Varesa and Iansan.
