The developers of Genshin Impact have shared a fantastic animated short ‘Star Odyssey’, starring Skirk and the moments she’s experienced on Teyvat or beyond. As a being from beyond, she knows about the fake sky, and she’s ready to show what’s beyond the firmament.
“Looking up, she could see the night sky embracing all that is. In that moment, a thousand emotions crystallized into questions. Where hang the sun and moon? What canvas depicts the stars? The infinite universe and breadth of time question the smallness of man. Yet it is these small specimens of mortality who may embark on long voyages, the power to create miracles firmly within their grasp.”
What do we know about Skirk, beyond her being a Freeze 5-star Cryo Sword?
She has two distinct playstyles: one relies on enhanced Normal Attacks for sustained damage, while the other uses her Elemental Burst to deal a powerful Cryo AoE attack. Both modes draw on Serpent’s Subtlety, a unique resource generated from Skirk’s Skills and Talents, instead of Elemental Energy.
Skirk also brings valuable synergy to teams with only Hydro and Cryo characters, granting an extra level to their Elemental Skills and a significant damage boost to herself.
When it comes to the story, she is Surtalogi’s disciple and Tartaglia’s master, a mysterious swordswoman who can withstand wield Abyssal power camouflaged as Cryo. Her ventures into Teyvat are brief, only gathering intel when absolutely necessary. She has arrogance and the strength to back it up, harshly training Tartaglia, yet caring enough not to permanently maim him:
“I don’t really care how many hands I use, but I do care how many he’ll have left when I’m done teaching. He still needs to live in Teyvat, so he can’t just make new limbs for himself with Abyssal energy like I can”.
