During today’s Special Program, Genshin Impact outlined the updates coming in the game’s Version 4.5, including Chiori, the return to Mondstadt with the latest event, a brand-new banner, and much more! Genshin Impact Version 4.5 “Blades Weaving Betwixt Brocade” arrives on March 13th.
The latest character to join the roster of the game is Chiori, an Inazuman seamstress currently residing in Fontaine. She is a 5-star Geo Sword user that can summon her doll assistant, “Tamoto,” to deal DMG based on her Defense and Attack. If a Geo Construct is nearby, Chiori will summon one additional “Tamoto.” When casting her Elemental Burst, she will draw her twin blades and execute a clean cut, dealing AoE Geo damage. During exploration, Chiori can increase party members’ Movement Speed by 10% if one of the party members is wearing a non-default outfit or wind glider. You will get to learn more about the character during her Story Quest, also coming in this update.
Chiori’s first banner is coming in the first phase of Version 4.5. She will be accompanied by a fellow Inazuma Geo character, Arataki Itto. The second phase of the update will see the first rerun of Fontaine’s Iudex Neuvillete, returning alongside fan favorite Anemo swordsman Kaedehara Kazuha.

Version 4.5 Will Introduce a New Type of Banner – Chronicled Wish
Those who have missed on Beacon of the Reed Sea & Hunter’s Path, rejoice!
During the livestream, it was revealed that Genshin Impact will get a brand-new type of banner in Version 4.5. Called “Chronicled Wish”, it will feature both characters AND weapons. But Travelers will be able to take advantage of “Chronicled Path” by selecting a 5-star character or weapon from the list. If the Designated Item is a character, the 5-star items you can obtain in the Wish will all be characters; whereas if the Designated Item is a weapon, the 5-star items you can obtain in the Wish will all be weapons.
It takes a maximum of 90 wishes conducted to secure a 5-star item through the guarantee system. There is a 50% chance that it will be the designated item. If you’ve lost the 50/50, you receive a Fate Point. After that, the next item you obtain through this Wish is guaranteed to be the one you’ve Designated.

The latest flagship event Alchemical Ascension will see players return to Mondstadt. Answer the call of Knights of Favonius and assist Lisa in managing an alchemical potion shop to promote the local business! Travelers will need to handle every step of the production process, from cultivating ingredients, to concocting potions, to selling them to customers.
The event lets players claim the exclusive 4-star polearm “Dialogues of the Desert Sages and interact with some familiar faces while at it! Alchemical Ascension is also the source for the polearm’s weapon refinement materials, so don’t miss out!

- Feline Fortress Furrdyssey. Your recent travels have seen you and Paimon encounter all manners of strange creatures, but in light of various factors, Paimon would still like to have some fun with cats. As such, you return to Modstadt and drop by The Cat’s Tail…
- Rolling Crossfire. The “Genius Inventor” of the Gardes has created a new kind of remote cannon. In order to test its combat effectiveness, they are looking for professionals to participate in firing experiments.
- The Great Fayz Reaction Debate. Jami as once again encountered trouble. As such, he has adopted more efficient enhancement measures and is waiting for the right person to help verify his work.
