Developer HoYoverse had been on hand during the latest Genshin Impact special program dedicated to Version 5.7: A Space and Time for You.
Bringing along a new main story quest about the Traveler and the Twin, the return of Dainsleif, two new playable characters, new endgame, enhancements and more, it will be arriving June 18. Let’s check out everything it has to offer! There is also a very brief teaser dedicated to Nod-Krai waiting at the very end.
“Take a break from your journey to explore the world. In that fleeting moment, someone’s homeland was destroyed, and someone was reunited with their family. No one can guarantee that this journey will go smoothly. All we can hope for is to reach a happy ending.”
In the upcoming version, a few things are happening at the same time. The Traveler is plagued with nightmares, and only the mysterious swordswoman Skirk can assist with putting them to rest by using her control over the Abyss. Meanwhile, a new unrest brews between the Traveler twins. A new power is rising, and so too does the story of the Travelers march toward a pivotal new phase.
Naturally, Daeinsleif also plays a role in the unfolding story as the Abyss Order begins to mobilize in Natlan. While Natlan’s defenders including Mavuika remain on high alert, the Traveler may begin to uncover some long-buried truths about their sibling’s schemes. If you were looking forward to the progress of the Traveler-centered plot of the game, this is it.
Genshin Impact – Version 5.7 Banners Include:
- Phase I: Skirk, Shenhe, Dahlia;
- Phase II: Mavuika, Emilie.
In the first phase, players can spend their hard-earned Primogems on Skirk (5-star Cryo-Sword) Surtalogi’s disciple and Tartaglia’s master, a mysterious swordswoman who can withstand wield Abyssal power camouflaged as Cryo.
She has two distinct playstyles: one relies on enhanced Normal Attacks for sustained damage, while the other uses her Elemental Burst to deal a powerful Cryo AoE attack. Both modes draw on Serpent’s Subtlety, a unique resource generated from Skirk’s Skills and Talents, instead of Elemental Energy.
Skirk also brings valuable synergy to teams with only Hydro and Cryo characters, granting an extra level to their Elemental Skills and a significant damage boost to herself.
She is accompanied by Dahlia, a new 4-star Hydro support character. As the Deacon of the Church of Favonius and the Herald of Barbatos, he offers versatile support in the form of a renewable shield created from his Elemental Burst. It can be reactivated by Normal Attacks or Freeze reactions. He can also boost teammates’ attack speed.
Genshin Impact – Version 5.7 Events & Additions
- New permanent combat endgame mode Stygian Onslaught. With 3 bosses that rotate every update and 6 escalating levels of difficulty, players can complete their trials to claim Artifacts and a new item called Dust of Enlightenment that allows for the re-rolling of minor affixes on a level 20 artifact.
- Battle of Imagined Arrays flagship event. The researchers of the Akademiya have decided to create a game that simulates an adventure of sorts… Take part in the event and mini-games to get bountiful rewards, including a copy of Sethos.
- Reminiscent Regimen: Frenzy. No grand adventure is complete without a journey that sets your blood aflame.
- Fearsome Ferocious Firepower. Monsters have appeared among a long-deserted complex of ruins. Use an improved cannon to clear them out!
- Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter. A new day in Teyvat is about to begin. As you set off on your journey once more, pay attention to the whispers on the wind. Perhaps the breeze might bring you tidings from your friends…
