Developer HoYoverse revealed that Genshin Impact Version Luna VIII, the last of the Song of the Welkin Moon saga, will take Travelers to the moon. Prepare for the one last Lunar journey before venturing to Snezhnaya with its Stellar mechanics.
Genshin Impact Version Luna VIII: Sunny Summer Fontinalia will launch on July 1, giving players a chance to reunite with Sandrone – you didn’t believe she was truly gone, did you? However, she made her sacrifice in the battle against Dottore genuinely, not knowing that she might be able to return thanks to Allain Guillotin’s Final Gift.
At the same time, the Frost Moon will become available as a permanent new area beyond the skies of Teyvat. The moon is home to many breathtaking sights, including the lunar sea and an unexplored space station.
Finally, the Fontinalia Film Festival sets sail aboard Wriothesley’s flying ship Wingalet in Fontaine. Many familiar faces will take part in this event, including Charlotte, Citlali and many others.
“From its reflection upon the water, we learn that the new moon has risen. Beneath the early summer night sky, we wander free and unhurried.
There is no need to hurry. Home is the destination we are sure to reach. Until then, let us listen to the songs along the way.”
The developers also revealed the upcoming 5-star banners. However, before we get to them, don’t forget to activate the livestream promocodes. We all need all the Primogems we can get before encountering a new reaction and moving to a new region. You can activate the Primogem promocodes in-game, through HoYolab app, or by visiting the official site.

Genshin Impact – Version Luna VIII Banners Feature:
Phase I:
- Sandrone (Cryo Claymore) & Citlali (Cryo Catalyst);
Arriving alongside Sandrone is Stellar-Conduct, a brand-new Cryo-Electro reaction. When triggered by certain Cryo and Electro characters, the surrounding area will briefly transform into a Polestar Field. This field can store excess Cryo and Electro energy and convert it into buffs, increasing the Stellar-Conduct DMG, as well as Cryo DMG and Electro DMG dealt by all characters within its range, while also reducing opponents’ Physical RES. Certain existing Cryo and Electro characters can also receive unique enhancements while within the field.
In combat, Sandrone can increase the entire party’s Stellar-Conduct DMG through the Polestar Field. She commands Fagio, a fully autonomous construct that deals Stellar-Conduct DMG with each Charged Attack and accumulates Decoding Power. Once Fagio reaches its firing limit, its attack intervals will increase. By using her Elemental Skill, Sandrone can maneuver through the Polestar Field while firing at opponents, reducing Decoding Power to prevent Fagio from overloading. Her Elemental Burst bombards opponents with artillery fire, and beam DMG dealt within the Polestar Field will be considered Stellar-Conduct DMG
Phase II:
- Columbina (Hydro Catalyst) & Raiden Shogun (Electro Polearm);
The return of Columbina gives you a final chance to strengthen your Lunar-based teams before venturing into Snezhnaya. Raiden Shogun’s arrival continues the age-old tradition of Archon reruns.
Lightrace Wish Banner Features:
- 5-star characters: Yae Miko, Cyno, Wriothesley, Qiqi, Yumemizuki Mizuki
- 5-star weapons: Kagura’s Verity (Catalyst), Staff of the Scarlet Sands (Polearm), Cashflow Supervision (Catalyst), Skyward Blade (Sword), Sunny Morning Sleep-In (Catalyst)
Older characters listed above will receive buffs not too dissimilar to Hexerei to work with the new Stellar reactions. Note that wish guarantee count for “Lightace Wish” and “Chronicled Wish” is shared!
Genshin Impact Version Luna VIII – Additions & Events Include:
- New 5-star character Sandrone and her signature weapon.
- New reaction: Stellar Conduct.
- New area: Frostmoon that contains a world quest involving Columbina. Note that unlike the usual world quests, this one is voiced.
- Witch’s Revelation – similar to the Hexerei buffs, Barbeloth is here with her prophecies to give buffs to older characters for the upcoming Stellar reactions.
- New Quality of Life feature: starting with most quests from Version Luna VIII, Travelers can now press to advance to the next line of dialogue at most times, without having to wait.
- Flagship event Sunny Summer Fontinalia. The Fontinalia Film Festival returns, and some old friends show up as well. Participate to receive a free copy of Charlotte (4-star Cryo Catalyst) and a skin for her.

- Final Long-Range Sightlines. Warriors from all across Teyvat continue to exchange battle techniques, and sharpshooters are included.

Last but not least, at the very end of the program developers showed the brand-new Snezhnaya Ecology Teaser.
