THQ Nordic has announced mobile version of the classical RPG Gothic. The game is making its way to iOS devices later this year, with more information coming soon. The game was fully adapted for the touch screen controls, bringing never aging classic to the new era of gaming. While developers didn’t share any technical details, players can expect the same level of optimization as the Nintendo Switch version. Back in 2023 this console version received improved graphics and performance optimization.
Gothic Classic is an original version of the world classic RPG, with minimal changes. Released back in 2001, the game earned love of many gamers with its dark fantasy setting and role play gameplay. Gameplay focuses on environmental interactivity and exploration. Although the narrative follows a linear path at times, the early stages of the game offer minimal guidance, allowing players to find their own way. The game came the first brick in the series, which soon grew from one colony to entire continent with diverse regions.
Gothic Classic is coming to PlayStation and Xbox this year, alongside its previously announced iOS release. In 2026, Gothic II Complete Classic and Gothic III Classic will follow on Sony and Microsoft consoles. Meanwhile, Gothic Remake launches on June 5, 2026, for PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
