Govee Expands Stellar Lineup with Galaxy Light Projector 2 Pro and Ocean Wave Projector

Star-gazers and ambient-light fans, unite! Govee is dialing up the cosmos in your living room. The smart lighting company has added two new models, the Galaxy Light Projector 2 Pro and Star Light Projector (Ocean Wave), to join the existing Star Light Projector (Nebula). The two new options provide fans with more ways to transform their ceilings into personal constellations (or underwater dreams).

We reviewed the original Nebula projector and came away impressed with how it transformed otherwise bland rooms into immersive skies. Its aurora-style effects and customizable zones made it a solid pick, although its dual-beam system only allowed for two colors at once, and the star effect was limited to green. The new models aim to break those constraints and broaden the creative palette.

Galaxy Light Projector 2 Pro – Sci-fi Visuals, Sharper Stars

The Galaxy 2 Pro is Govee’s new flagship stargazer, packing in a 4MP HD lens and a laminated glass disc to support 8K-equivalent clarity. According to the company, that’s a 100% resolution boost over the prior model, and it holds up even when projecting from a distance thanks to brightness reaching 230 lux.

It supports eight projection discs, over 20 built-in cosmic effects, and two dynamic laser motion patterns. As a bonus, it includes built-in audio features, so you can sync your projections to white noise or music, making it ideal for those nights you want your ceiling to groove.

Nebula – Still a Solid Middle Ground

The Nebula remains part of the lineup, and now it occupies the “sweet spot”: still highly customizable, but not pushing the bleeding edge (and not pushing your budget as hard). It offers 7-zone nebula effects, green laser stars (Blink and Orbit modes), and lets you pick individual colors per zone. With a 540 ft² projection area, over 50 presets, a Bluetooth speaker, and a smart sleep mode (gradual dimming + white noise), it’s still a capable companion for those who want atmosphere without overkill.

Ocean Wave – Calm Underwater Ambience

If you don’t want stars up on your ceiling, maybe waves are more your style. The Ocean Wave model projects flowing aquatic visuals using a dual-layer textured lens. Rooms up to 540 ft² can be drenched in dynamic wave patterns that you can tweak—speed, brightness, density, whatever fits your vibe.

It also supports over 40 preset scenes, sleep and wellness modes (including dim-ups and dim-downs), white noise tracks, and Bluetooth streaming. Your senses experience a full immersion in the aquatic world.

Smarts & Ecosystem Integration

All three projectors are Matter-compatible, so they plug into Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home if you already run a smart setup. The Govee Home App gives you deeper control, including timers, custom scenes, sleep modes, audio sync, and the works.

Pricing & Availability

They’re available now via Govee.com and Amazon.

Overall, we already liked what the Nebula brought to the table, especially for ambient mood lighting and its integration with the rest of our Govee gear. The Galaxy 2 Pro aims to address its biggest limitations: higher resolution, richer color, and greater flexibility. The Ocean Wave takes the aesthetic in a new direction, ideal for chill, meditative, or low-light setups. If Govee delivers on its claims, your ceiling is about to get a serious upgrade.
