Studio Spiders is back with another developer update for GreedFall 2: The Dying World, action RPG currently available in Early Access. The team took the time to reflect on their shortcomings, such as prolonged silence, and readjust the way they will move forward to meet player expectations.
“First, we’d like to apologise for the silence on our end. These past few months, we’ve been working on the next update and had trouble keeping up with the Early Access timeline, developing the game and delivering the content on time, while incorporating your feedback and continuing developing the world, story and universe of GreedFall 2.”
The next major update is coming next week, arriving on March 27th. It will offer a varied amount of content, including:
- The continuation to the main storyline;
- A new region and its biome: Olima, City of Stars;
- A new companion;
- The new Hub system;
- The start of the companion quests;
- New weapons and skills;
- Improved combat system;
- Bug fixes, and more.
Note that saves are not carried over between major updates, and all your progress will be reset due to compatibility issues. It will also be the case for the full release of the game. GreedFall 2 will remain in Early Access, but the team is making some changes to its format. Instead of 4 smaller updates, the game will receive two larger ones, with the upcoming March 27th update being the first.
“Once again, we’re aware we’ve not been up to par and the delay didn’t help. The goal of the Early Access was to develop the game with the community, and we have miscalculated how much content we could handle at the same time. As it’s our first time developing a game in Early Access, the past few months have been a learning experience, helping us refocus.”
