Studio Spiders, the developers of GreedFall 2: The Dying World, are back with another community update. The team has outlined what they are currently working on, as well as the new content to look forward to.
GreedFall 2 will receive Hotfix 0.1.1 next week. It is a small patch that will bring numerous fixes and improvements to the game based on player feedback. Among other additions, the game will receive the following:
- Fixing the issues of inactive companions or main character in Autonomous Party
- Fixing some animation issues like the jittering hair
- Improving the interaction button so you won’t have to hold it anymore to interact with NPC
- Improving targeting of creatures during combat
- Adding localization
Stay tuned for the full changelog once the hotfix is live. The next big update will introduce a new region, the first companion quests, new skill trees, the hub that will help players navigate the world. More details will be revealed closer to the update itself.
Additionally, the developers have noted player feedback on regarding the optimization, such as the game encountering frame drops. While the investigations are being carried out, the team prepared a guide to help affected players.
Spiders also noted that while they do not plan to return to the old combat system from GF1, the current system needs drasting improvements to make it fun. The key elements that require extra attention are:
- Faster pacing with more responsive actions and animations
- Better accessibility with improved onboarding and options
- Better controls to macro and micromanage your party
Likewise, the current UI/UX is a work-in-progress that will be built upon as the Early Access unfolds.
