GreedFall: The Dying World received a new patch that contains the new “Black Mass” DLC quest, along with improvements to combat, quest progression, stability, and UI.
GreedFall: The Dying World serves as an indirect prequel to GreedFall. The events of the game start 3 years before the adventures of De Sardet. Where previously you had an opportunity to explore a mysterious island of Teer Fradee, now you play as a native whisked away to the foreboding continent.
As the world is ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor, you must use diplomacy, cunning and combat as well as a help of new allies to regain your freedom and put an end to one man’s ambitions of conquest. Must a world be broken to be saved?
New Content
- Added the DLC quest “Black Mass”
Gameplay and AI
- Fixed an issue where two combat areas could overlap, negatively impacting companion behavior
- Improved combat targeting logic so enemies with the lowest and highest health are now correctly prioritized
- Fixed an issue where enemy NPCs could disappear due to LOD when moving away
Quests and Journal
- Fixed an issue where the Journal could incorrectly display all objectives as completed when skipping the smallpox vaccine dialogue with Daren
- Players can no longer exit the conversation before asking for the vaccines
- For players who previously left the conversation without requesting vaccines, objectives will now properly reset
- Fixed inconsistent Journal and quest flow results in “Like Father, Like Son” when failing the Science check
- Fixed a blocker that could prevent progression after loading a post-boss autosave due to a closed path
- Updated logic for trees and bridge interactions across two quests to improve save and autosave reload behavior
Animation
- Fixed a head clipping issue (rigging/animation fix)
Level Design and NPCs
- Fixed an issue where guards in the Humid Cave were facing and standing in the wrong direction at the entrance
Stability and Performance
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur when unloading a level
UI
- Updated application icons in the UI
