The developers from Obsidian Entertainment and Eidos-Montréal along with Xbox Game Studios celebrate the launch of Grounded 2 major update.
This time, players will face something way bigger than bugs — the huge lizard comes to spread the chaos. The expansion came along with the brand-new trailer, revealing the new boss and dangers it brings. However, Beat the Heat Update adds not only new challenges and content, but also significant changes and community-requested features.
Beat the Heat Update Overview
- King Dozer: A massive horned lizard boss encounter. Players summon and fight it for unique rewards including weapons, armor, furniture, and trophies crafted from its scales.
- Buggy Progression System (Community Requested): Buggies can be upgraded using Moldy Milk Molars to increase health, stamina, damage, healing, inventory size, and revive health. Buggy Mutations unlock through specific actions. The Buffin’ Barrel evolves buggies to higher tiers.
- New Buggy: Black Soldier Ant added to the buggy roster.
- Blocking with Bows (Community Requested): Players can now block while a bow is equipped.
- New Landmarks and Resources: Sinkhole Anthill, Four-leaf clover POI, new resources (small carrot leaves, Tier 4 Jaw breaker candy, black ant eggs).
- New Weapon: Woolly Whoppers.
- New Buildings: Buggy Buff Hut, EverChar Roasting Spit, curved walls (mushroom, pumpkin), new building set parts, spiral stairs.
- O.R.C. Enemy Updates: Potato Beetle (laser cannon), Scorpion Junior (laser), Bee and Blue Butterfly (healing devices), Adult Scorpion (scream buff for nearby O.R.C.s).
- Playgrounds Mode: Tools for players to create and share custom arenas, challenges, and puzzles.
- Easter Seasonal Content: Easter Eggs drop marshmallows for s’mores (sugar rush effect) and a Marshmallow Chair buildable.
- Combat Changes: Candy trinkets now work with bows and mage staves. Fighter armor grants bonus stun with melee finishers.
- Bug Fixes: Over 300 fixes across performance, collision, UI, multiplayer, and gameplay issues.
