Guild Wars 2 Halloween season isn’t quite in full swing, but players can have some fun at home with a batch of new homestead recipes released last night.
Patch notes for ArenaNet’s MMORPG dropped yesterday and snuck in some interesting updates that players will let us all prepare for the upcoming season of spooky. Among the many changes, tweaks and improvement is a batch of crafting recipes that will allow commanders to put the fear into their in-game housing. Buried ten feet in text is confirmation that:
The off-season Halloween vendor in Hooligan’s Route now stocks a much larger assortment of Halloween items for players who wish to purchase items with candy corn after the event has ended, including recipes for homestead decorations.
Dropped as a minor tweak to a vendor in the title’s main city hub, this is a sizeable drop of 48 new decorations. This is packed in among a myriad of gargoyles, recipe books, and creepy moons, all costing a ton of candy corn. Players will need to own a homestead, released in the latest Secrets of the Obscure expansion, and the materials to craft the spooky bits and pieces.

This comes ahead of the usual return of the Mad King. The yearly festivities include all the usual pumpkins and skeletons, a giant chainsaw wielding one too. Mazes, candy corn, a total redecoration for the aforementioned city of Lion’s Arch and plenty of time to trick or treat. I still hate the Clocktower more than anything!
If you want a Halloween at home, head into Guild Wars 2 now to try out the appropriately timed decorations and get your home looking it’s best before trick or treating begins.
