Arc System Works has revealed the next content expansion for 2D fighter Guilty Gear: Strive. Five years have passed since the release and now the game reached the 5th Season Pass. The expansion brings new characters, arenas and much more. Along with the content expansion, the game receives the balance changes, new cosmetics and character stories. Guilty Gear: Strive Version 2.00 launches on April 9, 2026.
Guilty Gear: Strive – Update 2.00 Overview
- Global combat balance adjustments
- Removal of the Wild Assault system; introduction of Counter Blitz
- New special moves for select fighters, including Sol, Ky, Leo, and Nagoriyuki
- New character color variant: Haunted
- Additional accessories and costumes for characters
- Alternate user interface themes
- New short narrative segments
- Seasonal reward system for Blazing Pass (debuting in May)
Season Pass 5 Content
The fifth Season Pass features a new battle arena, along with four playable characters to be released over time. Each new fighter will receive seven alternate color options and a dedicated music track composed by Daisuke Ishiwatari. The release schedule is as follows:
- April 9 – Jam Kuradoberi
- Summer 2026 – Robo-Ky
- Winter 2026 – Unannounced character
- Spring 2027 – Unannounced character
Guilty Gear: Strive is fighting featuring 2D/3D hybrid graphics. The game follows the tradition of the aclaimed series, carrying on the original spirit of the universe. It’s available on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
