It’s only Tuesday, but this week has already featured one of the year’s biggest surprises. Supergiant Games ramped up Hades II by releasing the PC early access version on Steam and Epic Games Store long before anyone expected it. From what players are already saying, the sequel to one of the most successful ARPGs ever made has already surpassed its elder sibling with more content, more action, and, well, just more. Add in that it’s Steam Deck verified straight out the gate, and the community is thrilled beyond measure.
This Early Access launch is an extraordinarily exciting moment for our team as we begin the process that we expect will help us realize this game’s potential. As with the original, we designed Hades II for Early Access from the ground up, and we look forward to hearing your feedback about all that we’ve built so far and integrating that feedback into our plans for the rest of production! Players take on the role of Melinoe, Princess of the Underworld. She is an “immortal witch and sorceress” and has plenty of scores to settle. Her brother is Zagreus from the first game, which ties things up nicely for those who like continuity in their games.
