343 Industries and Microsoft have announced that Halo Infinite has been delayed to Fall 2021. The news was made public via a blog post on the game’s official site from Creative Director Joseph Staten. The letter doesn’t specifically address the reasons behind the delay, but it is presumed from the rest of the post that feedback from the community has been integral in the decision-making process.
Staten wrote, “I joined 343i right as the team was wrestling with feedback from the July campaign demo. This discussion boiled down to one fundamental truth: we needed more time to do things right. That included pushing hard in the Fall, giving the team time to recharge over the Holidays, and then coming back in January to finish the game at a healthy pace.”
The balance of the post features interviews with several staff members about their particular niche on the development team. Readers will get tons of information from Nicolas Bouvier, Neill Harrison, and Ani Shastry about Art and Graphics updates. Ryan Paradis and Chris Blohn provide a peek inside the happenings on the Live and Customization teams with the letter wrapping up with a bit more from Joseph Staten.
