Developer Unfrozen is back with an exciting announcement: Jon Van Caneghem himself offers his wisdom to the Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era team as a Creative Advisor.
Jon Van Caneghem was involved in the creation of firection of several franchises, but most importantly he had been instrumental for the Might & Magic RPG series, Heroes of Might and Magic and King’s Bounty. Basically, he had been there since the beginning, and took part in almost every step of the games’ history.
“We are incredibly honored to announce that the founder of New World Computing and creator of the Might and Magic franchise himself — Jon Van Caneghem — has returned once more to contribute to the universe so many have come to love and embrace! We have invited Mr. Caneghem to join us as a Creative Advisor at Unfrozen, offering his deep knowledge and insight of early Might and Magic games for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era! It will be the first time since Heroes of Might and Magic IV that he’s participated in the series’ creation! He will also share his experience that he has acquired over the years since Might and Magic: Book One.”
About Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era:
Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era promises a return to the origins of the legendary saga, inviting both veterans and new players alike to explore Jadame, a mysterious continent in turmoil. The game will offer three single-player modes: Campaign, Randomly Generated Map and Skirmish. There are also three multiplayer modes to enjoy: Classic Mode, One-Hero Mode & Arena.
There will be six factions in Early Access: Temple (Classic Knights), Necropolis (Undead and Vampires), Sylvan (Nature and Fey Folk), Dungeon (Dark Elves and Underground Creatures), Hive (Demonic Insectoids), and the Schism, the sixth mysterious faction. The devs plan to expand the list in the future updates and DLC.
