The developers from Unfrozen and publisher Hooded Horse has released a next patch for the turn-based strategy Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. The newly released Patch 5 focuses on gameplay optimizations, UI fixes, and addressing community-reported issues.
The developers have also tightened turn-timer logic in online play to ensure a fair experience for all players. Looking ahead, the next update will focus on further rebalancing lower difficulty levels and improving network stability.

Bug Fixes – Gameplay and AI
- Fixed a rare AI error occurring during combat
- Fixed a bug blocking creature recruitment when using the Diplomacy skill with the Negotiator sub-skill
- Fixed the Mentors sub-skill of the Recruitment skill
- Fixed an issue allowing repeated selection of responses in dialogue windows
UI and Multiplayer
- Fixed skill and sub-skill tooltip display in the hero window when using the Shift key
- Combat timers no longer overlap the Initiative bar on 16:10 aspect ratio screens
- Fixed gold growth display after constructing a Bank or Treasury
- Fixed a UI error occurring when splitting stacks
- The Alt key now functions again during pick/ban in multiplayer
- Exit to Desktop button now correctly closes the application while in multiplayer
- Fixed localization of opponent names in the battle log
- Fixed display of losses for stacks containing temporary units
- Fixed a multiplayer bug where a player could continue taking actions after their turn timer had expired
Map Editor
- Fixed the customizable version of the University object (custom_university) – no longer crashes when loading a map
