The team behind turn-based RPG Honkai: Star Rail shared the latest Developer Radio, showing off system optimization, new and updated features, and more, coming soon. The article contains another surprising reveal: Star Rail is in for a new game mode!
Previously, it seemed like Memory of Chaos, Apocalyptic Shadow and Pure Fiction have covered all the bases: a generalist mode heavily slated towards new characters, single-target boss battle with new interesting mechanics, and AoE slaughter-fest. So what is it that the new trial stage, Anomaly Arbitration, can add?
For Trailblazers looking to test their limits, Anomaly Arbitration is a new permanent high-difficulty game mode expected to go live in Version 3.6. It will receive regular content updates over time, just like its older endgame counterparts.
To unlock it, Trailblazers have to achieve full-star records in Stage 12 of MoC, Stage 4 of PF, and AS Difficulty 4 – which can be completed across different versions. Once you have gained access to the Anomaly Arbitration, prepare for a showdown!
The new Star Rail game mode consists of three trial stages and one final stage. Trailblazers must take three separate teams to clear out the trial stages – think of Zenless Zone Zero’s Deadly Assault or Genshin Impact’s Stygian Onslaught. After completing the trials, you will be able to assemble any characters into a team to challenge the even more challenging final stage. You just know Hoolay’s going to be waiting for you there, in an even stronger boss version.
The rewards include special leveling items, limited-time avatar frames, redeemable outfits, and more.
Honkai: Star Rail – Other Announced Improvements Include:
- Version 3.6 will introduce the Journey Highlights tab to help Trailblazers quickly access and navigate event-related information.
- Trailblazers will also be able to check which major rewards are still available in each event, such as Stellar Jades or Special Passes.
- The Recommended Line-Up Guide will be arriving in Version 3.6 to help you with building optimized teams.
