Black Deer Games has released an announcement trailer to the upcoming strategy game Hordeguard: Winds of the North. The game promises to mix together tower defense gameplay with RPG elements, providing a unique experience. The announcement came along with the news that the developers team joined forces with a new publisher, Daedalic Entertainment. Early known as a game developer the company evolved into an international publisher. Together they will work on bringing the game to the players.
Hordeguard: Winds of the North blends tower defense, RTS-style resource management, RPG progression, and action combat. Gameplay offerd resources gathering, settlement fortifying, and surviving escalating waves of mythic enemies either solo or in co-op. The settlement is a core of a battlefield, which should survive the day. However, between waves, players can leave the village to discover loot, battle roaming enemies, and return with essential tools before the next assault begins.
Key Game Features
- Direct Combat: Players serve as a final wall, which can take up weapons, hold the line, reinforce weak points, and fight directly alongside Viking recruits and fortifications when the horde breaks through.
- RPG Progression: Gained battle, XP can be used to upgrade cards that change the strategy. After battle, battle players can unlock modifiers that add challenges and difficulty multipliers to test their warrior spirit.
- Game Modes : Solo or local split-screen co-op mode with support of Steam Remote Play Together. Players can choose different roles, adapting together when the horde arrives.
