Donate blood to secure your name etched into Gori Cuddly Carnage.
The clawsome carnage of Gori Cuddly Carnage come to spill some red stuff soon. Ahead of launch, the team behind this aggressive new adventure are asking us all to save a drop or two for a good cause and get their names in the credits for this bloody good time. After handing over a pint or two themselves, the teams at Wired Productions and Angry Demon Studio have confirmed that anybody donating blood will find themselves credited in the final roll as ‘lifesavers’.
In order to secure a spot, eager meat sacks need to share selfies of themselves giving blood on X or Instagram, along with hashtag #GorisGotBlood. We know the opportunity is open across the UK, US, and Sweden, with details available at the various national donation programmes. You won’t have very long to get in, however. Gori launches across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on August 2 and there’s no definitive deadline, so I’d leap into action as soon as you can. It’s been a long wait for this anthropomorphic cat to grab a foul mouthed skateboard and delve into an abandoned city full of horrific toy. Our 2022 hands on at Gamescom grabbed our attention for this bloody good adventure.
The offer to sign your name in blood comes swift on the heels of a recent censorship change for Gori, in Japan, China, and Korea. Players in these locations might still find themselves playing as a hoverboarding cat, dicing through the malformed legions of a nefarious toy army. These localized abominations, now squirt purple juice. The new ooze saved a bunch of blood, and we can probably spare a few pints ourselves.
On a serious note, giving blood is incredibly important. The UK’s NHS Blood and Transplant service estimates something around 4,300 blood donations are required every day. With 8 major blood types, a raft of different medical uses beyond replacing lost cells, this is widely considered an essential medicine. While we can’t wait to cuss our heads off and spill some unicorn guts when gori comes to Earth, I’ll be off to dispense some of my own this weekend. See you in the end credits.
