Developer HoYoverse did an unexpected Tuesday morning lore explosion with the new trailer, Myriad Celestia: Fables about the Stars Part 2. In the first part of the Fables, enigmatic Memokeeper Black Swan introduced viewers to the Aeons.
The new tale is much more personal. Not only does Jingliu return to reveal what her god-killing plan entails, we also get a glimpse of various Lord Ravagers gossiping about their colleagues as the Aeon war looms on the horizon. Talk about toxic workplace!
While Acheron continues her journey to Device IX, we also get a glimpse of what the war between Aeons would mean for the locations we have already visited: Jarilo-VI, Luofu Xianzhou, and Penacony.
A prophecy known as the “Theory of Four Apocalypses” circulates among the Omen Vanguards — That four Paths will push the cosmos to an end of Finality.
Destruction is one of them — Nanook’s flame shall devour all. In the heat death, the universe meets its first fate: an eternal end.
In their terror, mortals asked: from where does THEIR Primum Mobile truly stem? Is it contempt for life? Succor for the universe? Or the denial and hatred toward the gods? None know the answer. But at the end of Destruction, civilizations, living beings, all Paths and the Aeons will be burned to dust like the stars once shined above.
The Myriad Celestia trailer also gave us a first glimpse at some familiar and less-than familiar faces. Welcome Celenova, Phantylia, Asat Pramad and Zephyro, Lord Ravagers of the Antimatter Legion and Emanators of Nanook. What role does Phainon play in it all?
