Developer HoYoverse is back with a brief teaser of what comes after Version 4.2 and HSR 3rd anniversary, and it is another familiar face with a flashier look. Give it up for Mortenax Blade, another character that managed to escape Elation’s clutches. The paradise is reachable for him.

Mortenax Blade – 5-star Fire Nihility
Daring today, aren’t we? Mortenax Blade is our fifth Fire Nihility hero, rolling into town after Guinaifen (DoT), Jiaoqiu (Acheron/Ult support), Fugue (Break support) and the Dahlia (Break support, again). As the previous experience has shown, this particular combination can be pretty much anything, from main DPS, to sub-DD, to support. So place your bets, perhaps he will benefit another playstyle like Follow-Up Attack instead and work with Ashveil!
When it comes to Blade, you can split his life into “before” and “after” the Shuhu incident. Before, he was a master craftsman from Xianzhou Zhuming and a part of the High-Cloud Quintet alongside Dan Feng, Jing Yuan, Jingliu and Baiheng. Losing the foxian was the beginning of the end, which wrenched the Quintet apart and drew Yingxing (as he was known back then), Dan Feng and Jingliu down the increasingly dangerous paths.
In the “after”, having survived countless deaths bestowed upon him by Jingliu, Blade found his way to Elio’s side as a Stellaron Hunter. So what is his new form, Mortenax Blade? A path forward? Or an exploration of the Zhuming smithing/HCQ themes? Stay tuned to find out.
